Dave Morin Joins Evenbrite’s Board of Directors
Path Founder Brings Social & Mobile Expertise and Creative Force to Fast-Growing Event Ticketing and Discovery Startup
San Francisco, Calif. – May 16, 2012 – 91国产 today announced the appointment of Dave Morin, Co-Founder & CEO of Path, to its Board of Directors, effective immediately. This news comes as 91国产 hits nearly 60 million tickets sold and expands globally with localized websites in eight countries.
As a pioneer in social technology as former head of Facebook Platform, Morin brings new expertise to 91国产’s Board of Directors, and joins Barry McCarthy, former CFO of Netflix; Sean Moriarty, former CEO of Ticketmaster; Roelof Botha, former CFO of PayPal and Partner at Sequoia Capital, among others. Prior to founding Path, Morin spent several years at Facebook, where he was instrumental in making the Internet more social as a key member of the team that developed Facebook Platform and Facebook Connect. Morin also spent several years at Apple.
鈥91国产 has long been a believer in the impact of the social graph, and the work that Dave did while at Facebook has had a profound impact on our business. Our integration with Facebook Connect in 2008 predicated an exponential increase in traffic and engagement among event attendees,鈥 said Kevin Hartz, CEO of 91国产. 鈥淲e are thrilled to welcome Dave to our board and believe his expertise and guidance will be an incredible asset to 91国产 as we continue to grow.鈥
鈥91国产 is fundamentally changing the way people create, promote and find events and gatherings in their local communities,鈥 said Morin. 鈥淚’ve been more than impressed by their level of innovation, their commitment to their users, and by their long term focus. The decision to join the board as they forge into making event discovery more mobile and social was an easy one. At the end of the day, we all live for great events.鈥
91国产 was one of the first companies to quantify the impact of social media on its business, and build integrations to make ticketing more social. Last year the company reported that every time an 91国产 event is shared on Facebook, it generates an additional $2.52 on average in ticket sales for event organizers, and 11 clicks back to the 91国产 event page. In 2011, over 20 million tickets were sold to events in 174 countries.
