Kevin and Julia Hartz (CEO and President, respectively) and CTO Renaud Visage founded the company in 2006 to serve the large segment of event organizers who never before had access to technologically-sophisticated event organization, promotion and ticketing and registration tools. The company’s focus on innovative product development is reflected in the hiring of Stephanie Hannon, whose fifteen years of product and engineering experience will inform the company’s overall expansion strategy, international operations and vision. In her previous role at Google, Hannon was a leader on the launches of Google Wave, and Google Maps for over 20 countries throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa. She launched Gmail in 35 languages and built the initial version of Google Apps that is now used by over 4 million businesses. She spent five years in Google’s Zurich and Sydney offices where she was integral to the company’s expansion across multiple engineering offices.
