Three Mohican trappers agree to protect the daughters of a British Colonel in the midst of the French and Indian War.

The Last of the Mohicans will be the opening film in the America250 Film Series at the Englewood Library on Thursday, June 4, at 2 p.m. in the library’s Room 2. The program is free and open to the public. Because space is limited, those who register will have priority. You MUST register at https://bccls.libcal.com/event/16897972. The film series will end on Thursday, July 2 at 2 p.m.

The last members of a dying Native American tribe, the Mohicans -- Uncas (Eric Schweig), his father Chingachgook (Russell Means), and his adopted half-white brother Hawkeye (Daniel Day-Lewis) -- live in peace alongside British colonists. But when the daughters of a British colonel are kidnapped by a traitorous scout, Hawkeye and Uncas must rescue them in the crossfire of a gruesome military conflict of which they wanted no part: the French and Indian War.

The film also stars Madeleine Stowe, Jodhi May, Steven Waddington and Wes Studi. This 1992 film runs 112 minutes, and is rated R.
