AmpSurf Learn to Surf Clinic Aug 14 a Partnership with Foreseeable Future
Join us at the beach sharing the power of Adaptive Surf Therapy for individuals with visual impairments.
Overview:
This is a special surfing clinic for visually impaired athletes in partnership and sponsored in part by the Foreseeable Future Foundation. AmpSurf will provide surfing lessons for blind athletes on Friday, August 14th 5 pm-8pm at Second Beach in Middletown, Rhode Island. All people living with a visual impairment are welcome to register for one of the limited spots to join us and experience the healing power of surfing.
Other adaptive athletes:
We anticipate that there will be some spots available for adaptive athletes that are not visually impaired. Purchase a non VI Athlete ticket to be added to a waitlist. The $50 fee will be refunded if spots do not become available or you cancel your ticket/remove yourself from the waitlist by Aug 7nd 2026.
More detailed information for both participants and volunteers can be found below.
Volunteers:
Thank you for expressing interest to help us share the healing power of the ocean and adaptive surfing with our participants.
Volunteering can be a very rewarding experience. These clinics are not possible without your help. These clinics are also not possible if not adequately staffed. It is very important that all who sign up to volunteer make it to the event. Please let us know as soon as possible if you are unable to attend by emailing surf@ampsurf.org As we get closer to the date of the clinic you signed up for, we will send out updates. Please be sure to arrive on time and expect to have one of the greatest experiences of your life.
Again, please make sure you can commit for the whole time period you have signed up for. The Participants and your fellow volunteers are counting on you! We understand that circumstances change so please ensure you email surf@ampsurf.org if you cannot meet your commitment.
See below for specific volunteer opportunities.
Our Mission:
Our mission is to Promote, Inspire, Educate, and Rehabilitate (PIERâ„¢) all people with disabilities and their families through adaptive surfing and other outdoor activities to keep them focused on their abilities, not their disabilities.
