Caring for your newborn doesn’t come with a manual. Join our virtual community baby care basics program. Open to all.

Welcoming a new baby into your life can be both an amazing and overwhelming experience, especially for first-time parents.

Caring for your newborn doesn’t come with a manual—that’s why our Baby Care Basics class teaches expecting parents, grandparents and childcare providers about what you need to know.

We’ll discuss:

• Feeding and bathing your newborn

• Diapering

• Cord and circumcision care

• Taking temperature

• Baby equipment

• Safety

• Understanding and recognizing sleep patterns

• What you need to know about immunizations

What you’ll need:

• A baby doll or stuffed animal is needed for practicing purposes

What to expect:

• An In-Person class with a nurse educator and Q&A session

• You must attend to receive a digital copy of the baby care basics book.

This event will be held at 1111 Marcus Avenue, Suite M60, New Hyde Park, NY. On the day of class, please enter through Parking Entrance #2.

Ticket Quantity - Please note that one (1) ticket is valid for two (2) people.

For example: 1 ticket (for 2 people) equals $50.00.

Please bring your own snacks, drinks, etc.


Refund policy

Please Note: Registrants must attend on scheduled date to receive a digital copy of Your Guide to Baby's First Year book with your registration.

Cancellation Refunds are available upon written notice to healthed@northwell.edu within 3 days (72 hours) PRIOR to the class date. Cancellations are subject to a reduced rate by $5.00 due to the incurred cost for the digital copy of Your Guide to Baby's First Year book.

After the 3 day (72 hour) period, NO REFUNDS! This policy also applies to anyone who does not show up for class and will be considered as a NO SHOW, NO REFUND!
