Bats, Bugs, Fungus: what’s the connection?
Join bat advocate and licensed rehabilitator Barry Genzlinger for an engaging and eye-opening online presentation, Bats, Bugs, Fungus: What’s the Connection? Discover the fascinating world of bats, including their remarkable abilities and the vital role they play in our ecosystem. Learn about the serious threats bats face today—particularly from disease—and how declining bat populations can have far-reaching consequences for insect control, agriculture, and human well-being. This program offers a deeper understanding of why bats matter and what their future means for us all.
In 1998, Barry founded Chiroptera Cabin Company, where he built and sold bat houses over the internet. Over the course of his work, he constructed more than 4,000 bat houses, including over 100 for major bat research projects across the country, before closing the business in 2011. Barry’s passion for bats is at the heart of this presentation—he is eager to share both his fascination and his concerns with you.
