VIRTUAL Labor and Birth Class

VIRTUAL LABOR AND BIRTH CLASSÌý

This class will be offered virtually, live, at the scheduled date and time you are registered for via the ZOOM app.Ìý You will need to be able to log-on with your computer to participate in this virtual class.Ìý Instructions and the link to the class will be emailed to you the day of the class.Ìý It will have the same content, instructor, and group interaction as an in person class; the only difference is that everyone will be in their own homes.Ìý If you have any questions, please email Sarah McNamara, smcnamara1@bwh.harvard.edu.Brigham and Women's Labor and Delivery classes are open to all Brigham and Women patients who areÌýat least 28 weeks pregnant or more (at time of class), along with their partner or support person.

ÌýLabor and Birth Class

Cost: $160 *cost includes a support person

Classes are scheduledÌýSaturdays 9:00am to 4:00pm.Ìý

Taught by childbirth educators, the class will cover labor, birth and postpartum; including the signs and stages of labor; when to come to the hospital; breathing and relaxation exercises; tips to promote comfort and coping during labor. You will also learn more aboutÌýanesthesia and pain management options; cesarean birth, induction of labor, and postpartum. A virtual maternity tour will cover all logistics, including where to park and what to bring to the hospital.

ÌýPlease note:

  • Wear comfortable clothing, such as yoga pants or leggings; we do some floor exercises.
  • If you have a yoga mat, birth ball, and a pillow, those are helpful but not necessary.
  • Our lunch break is 30 minutes.ÌýÌý
