After three years in 53-gallon charred oak barrels, influenced by our high-elevation climate, an entirely novel bourbon unfolds.AROMAS:Orange blossoms compliment notes of black tea, honey and dusty pepperFLAVORS:Pekoe tea, orange peel, cinnamon and vanilla custard. We fell in love with how it ferments and distills into a terroir-driven, unapologetic whiskey.AROMAS:Floral and perfumed on the nose with notes of baking spice and orange oilFLAVORS:Black tea, sweet mint, salted toffee, orange peel and stewed fig. This heirloom spring soft white varietal is grown for us by the Cody family in the San Luis Valley. It is also the first Colorado-made wheat whiskey to meet the standards of the Bottled in Bond Act of 1897.AROMAS:Mountain strawberries, orange marmalade, alpine meadow and wildflower honeyFLAVORS:Jasmine tea, sage, spruce tips and pink peppercornMASH BILL:100% Soft White Centennial Spring WheatAGED:7+ years in new 53-gallon charred oak barrelsALC/VOL:50% FOUR GRAIN COGNAC CASK FINISHED BOURBONThis limited release starts with our Four Grain Straight Bourbon. We migrate this bourbon to various-sized French oak casks, adding flavors from the wood and spirit previously held in these vessels. After secondary maturation, this whiskey is married in a 50-year-old, 1,600 gallon former Cognac foeder for tertiary finishing. Every year we harvest just a portion of the whiskey, immediately topping up the foeder with new Four Grain Bourbon finished in Cognac Casks. This solera-style cycle creates a complex spirit with our signature Four Grain flavor followed by nuanced notes of stewed fruit, raisin, and black tea with a luxurious finish.TASTING NOTES:Stewed fruit and black tea on the nose. <h3>About our speaker: Al Laws</h3>As the Founder of Laws Whiskey House, Alan Laws is driven by a deep belief that great whiskey is built through patience, purpose, and a willingness to forge your own path.Before whiskey, Al spent years working on Wall Street. While successful, he felt pulled toward something more meaningful — the chance to build something with his own hands and pursue a lifelong passion for whiskey. That decision led him to leave the financial world behind and follow a dream: creating a whiskey that truly reflects Colorado.Laws Whiskey House was founded in Denver in 2009, and its first barrel was filled on July 4th, 2011. Guided by the mantra “There Are No Shortcuts,” Al committed to doing things the right way from the start. Working with Colorado farmers to source heritage and heirloom grains, focusing on true grain-to-glass production, and allowing time and craft to shape every barrel.True to that philosophy, Al waited more than three years before releasing the first bottle of Laws whiskey in October 2014, ensuring it lived up to the standard he set from the beginning.Today, Al continues to guide the pursuit of a distinct Colorado style of American whiskey, alongside what he often refers to as the Laws Whiskey House village — the passionate team behind the distillery whose shared commitment to craft, hard work, and hospitality brings the whiskey and the experience to life every day.
