Municipal Politics in Action is an interactive, dialogue-based round table that brings together municipal leaders and change makers from across Canada to explore how local government responds to evolving challenges while continuing to deliver for communities.

This session is designed as a civic learning conversation rather than a panel or lecture. Participants will hear directly from municipal representatives about the projects they are currently leading, the issues they are prioritizing, and how decision-making works at the local level in real time. The discussion will be shaped around the realities of governing today, balancing long-term goals with emerging pressures, and navigating change within complex systems.

The round table is intentionally small and conversational. Following brief introductory remarks from the municipal representative(s), the session will move into a guided discussion and open Q&A, allowing participants to engage directly, ask thoughtful questions, and explore how municipal politics can be a channel for meaningful social change.

This event is ideal for change makers working in community organizations, policy, research, advocacy, business, or social innovation who want a deeper understanding of municipal governance and how local leadership shapes outcomes on the ground.

Hosted by the Change Makers Club of Canada (CMC) in partnership with iMatr Canada, this session is part of a national round table series focused on strengthening trust, transparency, and collaboration between public leaders and the communities they serve.
