Do you live or work in the Lower East Side, East Village, China Town, or Two Bridges? Are you a native plants enthusiast? Do you want to support wildlife habitat and green your street?

The Lower East Side Ecology Center is having a native plant giveaway as part of its tool lending library program. Neighbors are invited receive a local plant, lovingly grown by the Gowanus Canal Conservancy's nursery. These local beauties are outdoor plants, great for adorning your local green spaces, including street tree beds. Lower East Side Ecology Center staff will be on hand to provide plant care guidance and to provide gardening tools to borrow.
