Monotypes are known for their inherent quality of light. Ink is applied to a plexiglass plate and transferred to paper using a Takach printing press. In these monthly sessions at the upper valley campus, we will explore this accessible printmaking process and create a small series of original prints that reflect our new seasonal light. You have options: explore a painterly additive process, an abstract subtractive approach, or use organic material for botanical printing. Once you get a taste of monotype you will see the limitless possibilities that lay before you. For beginners as well as experienced printmakers, you will find a supportive community for art making.
