The Moth Storytelling Workshop

The Moth Storytelling Workshop

Queens Botanical GardenNew York, NY
Saturday, June 13  •  1 PM - 4 PM
Overview

Queens Botanical Garden is partnering with The Moth for two special storytelling events this June!

On Saturday, June 13, from 1 – 3 pm, join us for a storytelling workshop where experienced instructors will introduce the basics of Moth-style storytelling and help participants craft their own personal story!

Then, on Thursday, June 18th at 6:30pm, we’ll gather under the covered patio for an open-mic StorySLAM! Come to enjoy the show or for the chance to put your name in the hat to tell a 5-minute story on our theme, Summer Solstice: stories about letting the light in, embracing change, and the pivotal moments that stay with you long after the season shifts.

The Moth Community StorySLAM is a project of the Moth Community Engagement Program, meant to create a welcoming space for hearing and sharing stories. Tickets are donation-based, and stories are not judged or scored.

Location: Helen M. Marshall Auditorium

Tickets: $6 (includes Garden admission)
