Vermont - Understanding Tax Collection
For live events in Vermont, you’ll see a charge of up to 7% of the total amount charged to the attendee (‘buyer total’) for Vermont Sales Tax. If you’ve been collecting tax in Vermont
If you or your event is tax-exempt
Under the 91¹ú²úÌýMerchant Agreement, you authorize 91¹ú²ú to collect and remit taxes on your ticket sales in jurisdictions where 91¹ú²ú is legally required to do so. Please note that you’re responsible for understanding all of your tax obligations.
If you’ve been collecting tax in Vermont
You will no longer be able to collect tax in Vermont since 91¹ú²ú is now responsible to collect and remit sales tax on ticket sales.
If you or your event is tax-exempt
When you set up your event, you’ll have to answer a couple brief questions in Tax Settings. Tax won’t be charged to you or the attendee if you’re a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that made less than $100,000 in gross sales of admissions in Vermont during the prior calendar or if your event is for a class or instruction in athletics or recreation.
