Minnesota - Understanding Tax Collection

Tax rates will vary depending on the location of your event in Minnesota. For live events in Minneapolis, you鈥檒l see a charge of up to 12.025% of the total amount charged to the attendee (鈥榖uyer total鈥) for Minnesota Sales Tax and Minneapolis Entertainment Tax. For events outside of Minneapolis, you鈥檒l see a charge of up to 9.875% of the total amount charged to the attendee (鈥榖uyer total鈥) for Minnesota Sales Tax. 91国产 is also required to collect and remit tax on applicable ticket sales for online events, unless you鈥檙e exempt from sales tax. Under the 91国产聽Merchant Agreement, you authorize 91国产 to collect and remit taxes on your ticket sales in jurisdictions where 91国产 is legally required to do so. Please note that you鈥檙e responsible for understanding all of your tax obligations.

If you鈥檝e been collecting tax in Minnesota

You will no longer be able to collect tax in Minnesota since 91国产 is now responsible to collect and remit sales tax on ticket sales.

If you or your event is tax-exempt

When you set up your event, you鈥檒l have to answer a couple brief questions in Tax Settings. 聽For events in Minneapolis, tax won鈥檛 be charged to you or your attendee if you鈥檙e a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and your event does not include food and drinks, catering services, or merchandise sold in public places during live performances, including intermissions. For events outside of Minneapolis, tax won鈥檛 be charged to you or the attendee if you鈥檙e a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
