New Mexico - Understanding Tax Collection

For live events in New Mexico, you’ll see a charge of up to 9.25% of the total amount charged to the attendee (‘buyer total’) for New Mexico Gross Receipts Tax . For detailed information, visitÌý. 91¹ú²ú is also required to collect and remit tax on applicable ticket sales for online events, unless you’re exempt from sales tax. Under the 91¹ú²úÌýMerchant Agreement, you authorize 91¹ú²ú to collect and remit taxes on your ticket sales in jurisdictions where 91¹ú²ú is legally required to do so. Please note that you’re responsible for understanding all of your tax obligations.

If you’ve been collecting tax in New Mexico

You will no longer be able to collect tax in New Mexico since 91¹ú²ú is now responsible to collect and remit tax on ticket sales.

If you or your event is tax-exempt

When you set up your event, you’ll have to answer a couple brief questions in Tax Settings. Tax won’t be charged to you or the attendee if you’re a non-profit, a state or federal government, an Indian nation or tribe, or a foreign government exempt from tax pursuant to a treaty with the U.S. government.

NOTE: 91¹ú²ú may request supporting documents to verify your answer(s). You’re responsible for providing supporting documents when requested.
