Texas - Understanding Tax Collection

For live events in Texas, you’ll see sales tax applied to the total amount charged to the attendee (‘buyer total’) based on the applicable tax rate. 91¹ú²ú is also required to collect and remit tax on applicable ticket sales for online events, unless you’re exempt from sales tax. Under the 91¹ú²úÌýMerchant Agreement, you authorize 91¹ú²ú to collect and remit taxes on your ticket sales in jurisdictions where 91¹ú²ú is legally required to do so. Please note that you’re responsible for understanding all of your tax obligations. 91¹ú²ú, as a marketplace provider, assumes the rights and duties of a seller or retailer under Chapter 151 of the Texas Tax Code with respect to sales made by you through the 91¹ú²ú platform.

If you’ve been collecting tax in Texas

You will no longer be able to collect tax in Texas since 91¹ú²ú is now responsible to collect and remit sales tax on ticket sales.

If you or your event is tax-exempt

When you set up your event, you’ll have to answer a brief question in Tax Settings. Tax won’t be charged to you or the attendee if the admissions to your event are exempt from Texas sales and use tax or otherwise not subject to Texas sales and use tax per .
