Students play chess and design custom 3D chess sets while building strategy, creativity, and engineering skills.
Calling all young makers, chess players, and creative thinkers ages 6–18!
Join Chess Makers Lab: Design & Play, a fun hands-on workshop where students will play chess while exploring engineering, creativity, and 3D design. Participants will design their own custom chess pieces and boards using 3D modeling software, sketch ideas, prototype designs, and create personalized projects that can be 3D printed at the STEM Center.
Throughout the week, students will strengthen their strategy and critical thinking skills through chess gameplay while learning about digital fabrication, design thinking, and creative problem-solving in a collaborative environment. Whether you are new to chess or already love the game, this workshop is a great opportunity to train your brain, build new STEM skills, and have fun creating with the community!
